We are Marie-Lise and Sylvain Maertchik, your hosts… If computers feed us, thankfully enough, they aren’t our only interest in life.

Marie-Lise : without being backward-looking, I’m fond of old fashioned things: houses and castles, furniture, works of art, etc. In fact I’m fond of history. For our pleasure and for yours, I’m also fond of gastronomy, without fussing but with food products in the respect of the French tradition. And as I like nature, I try respecting it by choosing, as long as it’s possible, what I put in your plates! Above all, I like people, which explains my choice for a guest house! From everywhere, of every background, of every age… we all have something to share and this is what I like a lot!

Sylvain: Savoyard by adoption, and from now on at heart, I can’t do without my mountains for very long. During the winter I use the cross-country ski pistes in Sommand (not enough I’ll admit) and during the summer I try catching the beautiful speckled fish in the surrounding rivers and sometimes it works! Let the people of a nervous disposition be reassured, you won’t find them in your plates for dinner because I always put them back into the water alive. Ah! If only my job didn’t keep me away all week, I could spend peaceful days in Mieusy.
